The Lost Art of the Hometown Christmas Parade

Recently my husband was invited to drive his transformed golf cart, which we call “The Buggy”, in a Christmas parade.  The event was a four-hour drive from our home.  However, we do love to show off The Buggy, so off we went to Linden, Ala.

Linden is a small town rooted in gospel hymns, old money, and friendly faces.  Linden’s Main Street is the central location of the prospering mom and pop businesses, as well as where the churches and the small high school can be found.  It gave us a warm feeling as we witnessed this small step back into time.  It looked like a Norman Rockwell painting on the cover of “Life” magazine.
